Daily millions of dollars worth of diamonds and other precious gems pass through this unique jewelry district on their way to the retail counter. Many of them will be submitted to a professional gem lab, such as GSI, for identification and grading.

Few people are invited inside a gem lab to observe its operations due to its high security requirements. We are pleased, however, to offer you a "virtual" glimpse of a diamond's journey when it is submitted to GSI.
